Yeah, baby, yeah! - Austin Powers: the Spy Who Shagged Me Reviews

Though not the best of the Austin Powers films, The Spy Who Shagged me still manages to conjure up some funny jokes and some hilarious parody. Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) is again trying to take over the world, with jhis "laser." His helpers include those at the Starbucks Coffee Company in Seattle, his little clone Mini-Me (Verne Troyer), and his sarcastic and very reluctant son Scott Evil (Seth Green.) The film begins ingeniusly with them fighting on Jerry Springer. Then of course, there's Britain's greatest secret agent/professional shagger Austin Powers (Myers again.) This time his girl is the sexy Felicity Shagwell (Heather Graham); she's the American spy who shags him (yeah baby yeah!) Myers plays another part: the very abnoxious, gross, absurdly obese Scottish assassin named Fat Bastard, who Myers seems to think is really hilarious, but he's dead wrong. Fat Bastard is really a rather boring character inviting a few too many fart and shart jokes. I guess it's kind of inevitable that Myers thinks he's really funny in all his rolls: or else, why would he have created three roles for himself? The only problem I found with his performances was that the side characters often ended up being way more funny than he is, except when he's Dr. Evil. Austin is funny as a skit character, but feature length films don't totally suit him. His jokes get rather tiring also. Dr. Evil is the only character that I find almost always funny of Myers', but then again, he also has a bunch of other funny parts to go up against. From the Starbucks workers to Mini-Me to his son Scott, Dr. Evil lives in the funniest environment, and therefore he also features the most competition for screen hilarity. Evil's scenes are most definetely the funniest in the film though. Cameos galore in this film, including Will Ferrell, who makes a very funny appearnce as an assassin who kinda sucks at his job and whines a lot. This Austin Powers flick (I dare anyone to call it a film) is definetely worth scoping out if you wanna laugh yourself silly. If only it wasn't a retread of the first one.
